Pecuniae
A budgeting app for one person or a household of two. Bring in the bank's export, sort it once, and see where the money goes, what repeats and what the next year looks like.
Open Pecuniae
The year at a glance Income, expenses, savings rate and the trend month by month. All the numbers are invented.
The year at a glanceIncome, expenses, savings rate and the trend month by month. All the numbers are invented.
It started as a spreadsheet kept for years. Pecuniae replaces it: bring in the bank’s CSV, give each row a category once, and the next import already knows.
The app
A dashboard for any period, budgets per category, a queue for the rows nobody has sorted yet, recurring bills found on their own, and a twelve-month outlook. Two people can share a household: each keeps their own ledger, both see the combined view, and shared costs settle between them. Amounts are stored to the cent, and nothing changes your data without asking.
The build
A Python web app with FastAPI and SQLite, pages rendered on the server, installable on a phone like an app. A SwiftUI iPhone app runs on the same API, with one subscription covering both people in a household. English and Italian, in euros, dollars or pounds. It runs in a container behind Caddy on a small server.
